The confirmed number of Kyrgyzstan gambling halls is something in question. As data from this country, out in the very most interior part of Central Asia, can be awkward to acquire, this might not be all that bizarre. Whether there are two or 3 accredited casinos is the element at issue, perhaps not really the most consequential slice of info that we don’t have.
What will be true, as it is of the majority of the old USSR states, and certainly correct of those in Asia, is that there no doubt will be a good many more not allowed and underground gambling dens. The switch to legalized gambling did not drive all the aforestated gambling dens to come out of the dark into the light. So, the bickering regarding the total number of Kyrgyzstan’s casinos is a minor one at most: how many accredited ones is the item we’re trying to reconcile here.
We understand that in Bishkek, the capital city, there is the Casino Las Vegas (a marvelously unique name, don’t you think?), which has both gaming tables and slot machine games. We can also see both the Casino Bishkek and the Xanadu Casino. Each of these offer 26 slot machine games and 11 gaming tables, divided amongst roulette, blackjack, and poker. Given the remarkable similarity in the size and layout of these two Kyrgyzstan casinos, it might be even more bizarre to determine that they are at the same address. This seems most confounding, so we can clearly determine that the list of Kyrgyzstan’s gambling halls, at least the approved ones, is limited to two members, one of them having altered their name a short time ago.
The state, in common with most of the ex-USSR, has experienced something of a rapid conversion to free market. The Wild East, you might say, to reference the anarchical conditions of the Wild West a century and a half ago.
Kyrgyzstan’s casinos are honestly worth visiting, therefore, as a bit of anthropological analysis, to see dollars being gambled as a type of collective one-upmanship, the celebrated consumption that Thorstein Veblen talked about in nineteeth century u.s..
