Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just across the border from next door Thailand, in which casino gaming is not legal. Eight casinos are established in a relatively small area in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect destination, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular betting locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing income accrued from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a couple of limitations constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; although, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and although visas are apparently required to cross, there are methods around this, as is true of many borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau gambling den, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machine games and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machine games and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat banque (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and 66 of the normal table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 casinos in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a comprehensive resort and hotel building that contains numerous comforts accompanying the gambling den, which has 10,000 square feet of 130 one armed bandits and 88 gaming tables.
