Cambodia Casinos

There is an interesting background to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, where casino gambling is not allowed. Eight casinos are established in a generally small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling dens is in a perfect location, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The astonishing capital accrued from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of controls constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; still, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are for all intents and purposes required to pass, there are means around this, as is correct of many border crossings.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge gambling den, contains one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty tables. The Naga river boat is open all hours with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slots and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 table games, including 87 punto banco (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and sixty six of the familiar tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational vacation and hotel compound that features a number of comforts accompanying the gambling den, which contains ten thousand square feet of 130 one armed bandits and 88 tables.
